Galanova Adventure

A slice of the game, free, with nothing to sign up for. It runs in a browser tab — but there are builds if you'd rather have it on your machine.

An installer, not a portable build.

The filenames look like that on purpose — each one carries the version and the exact minute it was built. If something goes wrong, send me that filename and I'll know precisely which build you were on.

  • One planet

Rath, a fringe galactic colony out where the Republic stops paying attention. Everything on it is the real game, not a tutorial box.

  • One minigame

Planet Breaker, a brick-breaker analogue, playable while your party autobattles somewhere else.

  • Leaderboards, in full

Fully operational and fully supported, and demo support is never slated to cease. Even after full release, free demo players will remain able to compete on the Planet Breaker board and in any collection log progressable on Rath.

How the full game plays

Before you start

The demo in its current state contains placeholder art and dialogue throughout. The art requires funding to fix. The dialogue merely requires time.

So what you're playing is the systems, not the finish. If the writing reads unfinished and a sprite looks like it was made in ten minutes, that is because both are true — and I'd rather you knew going in than found out twenty minutes later.

Your progress is saved

The browser version keeps its save in the browser you played it in. Clearing site data clears it, and a different browser starts over — unless you make an account, in which case the save follows you.

It's a demo, so it stops

You'll reach the end of the slice rather than the end of the game. Everything up to that point is the real thing, not a mock-up.

Online features are connected

Accounts, leaderboards and cloud saves work here. All of it is optional — the game runs perfectly well signed out, and you'll never be asked to make an account to keep playing.

Android will warn you

The APK doesn't come from the Play Store, so Android will ask you to confirm before installing it. That prompt is expected.

So will Windows

The installer isn't code-signed, so SmartScreen shows a blue "Windows protected your PC" panel and puts the Run button behind More info. A signing certificate is a yearly bill the game hasn't earned yet. That prompt is expected too.

Something broken, confusing, or just bad? Tell me — one person reads that mail and answers it, usually within a day.
